World’s first e-passport developed by Bundesdruckerei

Eco Factor: E-passport eliminates paper use. German passport manufacturer Bundesdruckerei has unveiled, what is being claimed to be the world’s first e-passport. The passport was unveiled at the CeBIT 2010 and features an AMOLED display. The passport doesn’t even require a battery to function as it is powered by radio frequency technology.

The passport’s display is turned on, showing a 360 degree view of the holder whenever the car moves to an RF power source. The design is flexible enough not to break even if kept in your pocket. Via: Treehugger
