Intelligent Energy along with a consortium of companies including Lotus Engineering has unveiled a fuel cell powered black cab, a fleet of which is expected to be on the roads of London in 2012. The project is a part of plans to make the capital’s taxis tailpipe emissions free by 2020. The prototype is powered by hydrogen fuel cells and

is capable of hitting a top speed of 80mph and a range of 250 miles. Unlike electric cars, this vehicle can be recharged in just five minutes. The prototype emits only water from its tailpipe, which ensures that the capital’s streets will be much cleaner by the end of the next decade. Via: AutoCar
