    We already are re-engineering the Earth, though I’m inclined to belief that nobody does it better than nature.

    I don’t know why geo-engineering doesn’t scare the snot out of environmentalists.

    We are talking about letting the human population decide how to take an infinitely complicated system and “engineer” things to fix the problems we can see. How can we ignore the fact that WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OTHER CHAIN REACTIONS WILL BE SET OFF IN THE PROCESS.

    Geo-engineering will in all likelihood be a part of llife in the decades, or centuries to come, but it can be put to productive and positive ends rather than as a measure to delay paying the debt we owe to every other species that we’ve annihilated in our rise to dominance over the planet.
